The Worst Class Trip Ever, Dave Barry
Humor/Adventure
Our eighth graders just got back from a trip to DC, but as far as I know, none of them got involved in a terrorist plot while they were there. The eighth graders in this book – Wyatt and Matt – are not so lucky. The trouble starts on the plane, when the guys in the row behind them act super weird about their backpacks, leading to a run-in with a federal air marshal and a very serious lecture from their teacher chaperone.
The trouble doesn’t stop once they’re on the ground. In between visits to the National Archives and the Smithsonian, Wyatt and his classmates have to figure out how to rescue a friend, stop the bad guys, and maybe even save the entire country – without contacting the police or letting their teachers figure out what’s going on. After all, they’re still on a field trip…so they could still get detention. And there is no way that fighting terrorists is on the list of approved activities.
If you’re looking for a book that’s hilarious and action-packed, this is the one for you.
