America Bowl, Don Steinberg
Nonfiction
Good news, sports fans: just in time for the Super Bowl, we have a highly educational nonfiction book called America Bowl. This book goes through the first 44 presidents – that’s all of them, for those who are keeping count, because they count Grover Cleveland twice – and compares them to the first 44 Super Bowls, in terms of their awesomeness.
So for example, you get a page comparing the 1986 Super Bowl – that’s the last time the Bears won, as a reminder – to our twentieth president, James Garfield. (The Presidents win this round. Ouch.) On every page, you get plenty of info about each president and the game he’s competing against.
It’s pretty silly, but it’s lots of fun. Read it during the commercials on Sunday – or during the game, if you insist.
